History

Sometime in 1989, a few young girls and boys wanted to become real folklore dancers. It took only a small step from this desire to establishment of the children’s folklore ensemble Kremienok.

So began the first steps of the dance routines: Krakurocky, Vazec wedding, Huska biela, Na Lucie, By the brook, etc. Since the beginning, we had with us 300 Bratislava’s children aged 3 to 16 years. Currently we have 90.

At first, we were located in the House of Children and Youth; later in the Center for leisure on Stefanik Street. We practised in the gym of the Jelenia Street public school. Since September 2002, we have been practising in the gym of the St. Vincent de Paul school in Bratislava – Ruzinov on Bach Steet.

During the 15 years of existence, we have given 200 performances in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Belgium.

The founder of the ensemble, the choreographer for all dances and the art director since its inception is Katarina Masacova – Baginova.
